This episode was nominated for two Emmys, including Outstanding Art Direction for a Single-Camera Series and Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series. It won the Emmy for Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series.

Director Thomas Schlamme won a Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Dramatic Series Night for 2000. Unit Production Manager Neal Ahern, Jr., First Assistant Director Andrew Bernstein, and Second Assistant Director Dylan Massin were also named in the nomination.

This is Schlamme's sixth DGA Award nomination. He won the DGA Award in Comedy Series last year for the "Small Town" episode of "Sports Night" and was also nominated last year in the Dramatic Series Night category for the pilot of "The West Wing." In 1998 he won the DGA Award in Comedy Series for the pilot of "Sports Night." He was also nominated in 1997 for the "Tracey Takes On..." episode "1976" and in 1996 for the "Tracey Takes On..." episode "Romance."

This is Thomas Schlamme's first DGA Award in this category and third DGA Award. He won the DGA Award in Comedy Series last year for the "Small Town" episode of Sports Night and in 1998 he won the DGA Award in Comedy Series for the pilot of Sports Night.

Jeffrey M. Sacino and Tony Williams have been nominated for a Hollywood Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist Guild Award in the category of Best Contemporary Hair Styling, Series for this episode.
